This Weeks Lesson

BEING THE HANDS AND FEET OF JESUS

Psalm 8(KJV)
[1] [[To the chief Musician upon Gittith, A Psalm of David.]] O LORD our Lord, how excellent [is] thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.
[2] Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.
[3] When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
[4] What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
[5] For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
[6] Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all [things] under his feet:
[7] All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;
[8] The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, [and whatsoever] passeth through the paths of the seas.
[9] O LORD our Lord, how excellent [is] thy name in all the earth!

1Corinthians 12:27(KJV)
Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

1Corinthians 15:58(KJV)
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Ephesians 2:10(KJV)

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

We Christians spend many hours studying the Bible and attending church and devotions. Most of us don't feel we do these things enough. Our schedules are filled with so many daily activities that we hardly know when to fit in all of the above. Suddenly, God presents us with an event that forces us to stop and look at the Big Picture—what is really important: family, friends, and dealing with the event at hand.
In this case, a flood has come close to Biblical proportions for our area. Many have lost everything, some even their lives, and others are still searching for the lost. Is there a remedy to deal with this? Is there a place to turn, and where is God?
The answer here is our God, as Christ's body, comes together and works toward the common good. Regardless of what church we belong to or what denomination we are, or even if we don't believe in the Christ who died for our sins. He (God is here) This is where he moves, works, responds, and lives among our people. Even for whatever reason, folks can't be physically present to serve in the field or church; they are praying, giving, and communicating the message the Heavenly Father intended. For those who have attended Bible Studies and Church services, it is time to fill the slots of volunteerism; for those who can't now, pray and see what the Father has for you to do in this situation. He has a place for all of us. Prayer is the match that lights the Fire of the Holy Spirit to move in us as the Father gives Him the instructions and guides us through whatever part of the Journey He intends for us to take. After all, it is not the building we occupy but the Body of Christ that moves the Mountain—working with all to do His Will. Many may not realize it, but we know who holds the future and the now.

Cyber Sunday School Blog Update Hurricane Helene Flooding 09/25/2024

 Good day. This blog has been converted to an Update mode. There comes a time when just praying, studying, and searching the Word is not enough. In our community, this is now the time to actually live it out. Jesus commands that we "Love one another."(John 13:34-35) (34 A New commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples if ye have love to another. (KJV))

Our area experienced a significant flooding event caused by Hurricane Helene. This flood hit the area with such force that widespread destruction occurred. It took several days for our supplies, personnel, and volunteers could even get here from other areas. We had to band together and, with God's help, maintained, as best we could, the resources we had to work with. No power, water supply, cell, internet, or landline service has existed since the event nine days ago. Gradually, things are being restored, but very slowly, as working around the destruction has been difficult in these mountains. Each day, our pastor gives updates on the status of our church. The Red Cross and FEMA have set up the High School and Hospital sites. We pray for all of the Rescue teams that have come in, local fire departments and law enforcement, and volunteer medical staff that have come in. So many folks have come in to do the clean-up, clear out, search teams, and helicopter drops from various groups that have arrived to assist.

If you have not accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, whether your realize it or not you have nothing greater to turn to. If you have Jesus as your personal Savior you are never alone.
